Does Eating Rice Can Make Us Fat?
Part of my weight loss diet is to eat less rice because I used to believe that eating too much rice can make me become fat. But a friend of mine told me that its not the rice that gained me too much weight before. So I did a research and learn the facts about it.
Research has been conducted around the world shows that people who eat rice typically have a healthier diet and experience better health than those who are non-rice eaters.Rice, in its various forms, plays an important part of a healthy diet as it provides a higher amount of dietary fibre and other important vitamins and minerals such as folic acid, potassium, and iron.
I found out that rice is actually low in fat and its cholesterol free. It’s very low in saturated fats and trans fatty acids which are known to raise blood cholesterol levels. Carbohydrates are actually not fattening! Weight gain only happens when the amount of energy or the calories taken in through food exceeds the amount of energy burned up through our daily physical activity and exercise. In other words, it is the sum of what we eat and the amount of activity that we do that really counts.
Rice which is one of the grain-based foods is an essential part of eating for people of all ages as they contribute valuable amounts of energy-giving carbohydrates, protein, dietary fibre, vitamins and minerals. It has a strong nutrition credentials, which makes it a great food to enjoy every day.
